Embark on a captivating journey to Lamanai, one of Belize’s most
impressive Maya ruins. Nestled in the heart of the jungle in Orange Walk
District, Lamanai was once a major city of the Maya civilization and boasts a
rich history that spans over a millennium. Join us as we explore the ancient
city’s secrets, encounter diverse wildlife, and marvel at stunning landscapes

A SCENIC VOYAGE TO THE MAINLAND

Your adventure begins with a delightful continental breakfast as we
cruise by boat to the mainland. As we navigate the waterways, our knowledgeable
guides will point out the abundant flora and fauna that thrive in this lush
environment. Keep an eye out for crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, iguanas
perched in the trees, and vibrant birds soaring overhead.

Upon arrival at Tower Hill on the mainland, we’ll board a private bus or
van for a scenic ride to our next destination.

DOWN THE NEW RIVER TO LAMANAI

At Tower Hill, we’ll board another boat for a mesmerizing journey down
the New River to Lamanai. As we glide along the river, the surrounding jungle
comes alive with the sights and sounds of wildlife. Playful monkeys swing from
branch to branch, while exotic birds such as toucans and herons showcase their
vibrant plumage. The river’s serene waters reflect the verdant beauty of the
jungle, creating a breathtaking backdrop for our journey.

EXPLORING THE ANCIENT RUINS

Upon reaching Lamanai, we’ll take a break for a delicious lunch served
under the canopy of the jungle. Rejuvenated and ready to explore, we’ll embark
on a guided tour of the majestic ruins that perch on the water’s edge. Lamanai,
whose name is pre-Columbian and recorded as Lam’an’ain in early Maya
inscriptions, stands as a testament to the ingenuity and artistry of the
ancient Maya civilization. Discover the secrets of this ancient city, marvel at
the intricate carvings and structures, and immerse yourself in the timeless
allure of this archaeological wonder.
